NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF WELCH,
WEST VIRGINIA
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES
Notice is hereby given by the City of Welch that it will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the City Hall, 88 Howard Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801.
The purpose of this public hearing is for proposed adoption of proposed ordinances. The following proposed ordinances will be considered for adoption:
1.Special Levy Election Ordinance (directing that a special levy election be called and held on June 9, 2026, and there be submitted to the voters of the City of Welch the question of increasing the levies authorized by Article 8, Chapter 11, of the West Virginia Code in order to provide additional revenues)
2.Storage Facility Ordinance (prohibiting from living, either permanently or temporarily, or engaging in business as defined in W. Va. Code § 11-12-1 et seq, in any structure designed primarily for the storage of personal property; size and placement; penalties)
Copies of the proposed ordinances will be available for public inspection in the Office of the City Clerk at Welch City Hall, 88 Howard Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801, beginning on February 23, 2026, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on March 16, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. to present oral or written comments concerning the proposed ordinances. Written comments may also be addressed to Robin Lee, City Clerk, City of Welch, 88 Howard Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801.
