Notice is hereby given that LITTLE SEAM MINING COMPANY, INC., PO BOX 25, HARMAN BRANCH RD, THORPE, WV 24888 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 352.42 acres in order to Amend the current surface, highwall miner, and auger permit to add 199.00 additional acres in the Pocahontas No. 3, Pocahontas No. 4, and Pocahontas No. 6 seam of coal. The proposed operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of/and South Fork; Unnamed Tributaries of/and McClure Branch of South Fork; Unnamed Tributaries of/and Tea Branch of South Fork; Unnamed Tributaries of Tug Fork; all of Tug Fork and is located 1.1 miles, Southeast of Pageton in Adkin District of McDowell county, Longitude 81o 27' 17" and Latitude 37o 19' 54"

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above unil September 12, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until September 12, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
